About The Artist
Caprice Pierucci earned her MFA from the renowned School of Visual Arts in New York City. With a prolific career spanning over ninety exhibitions, she has garnered numerous awards and accolades. Notably, Pierucci’s works grace esteemed collections, including those of Westinghouse, Morgan Stanley, Four Seasons, and the Rockefeller Collection. Her artistic prowess has been showcased in prestigious venues such as the Dallas Fine Arts Museum, Beeville Art Museum, Wichita Falls Museum, and El Paso Museum of Art [among others].
Artist Statement
I find myself captivated by natural phenomena: the intricate patterns of earth erosion, the delicate formations of calcite in caves, and the graceful dance of wind on desert sands. Yet, I am equally drawn to the remnants of human creation: weathered refrigerator grates, the intricate narratives told by cracks and scratches in metal or cement, and the humble beauty of squashed recycled cardboard.
Initially, wood served merely as support or armatures for my fibers and paper. However, over time, it evolved into a more expressive medium through which I could manifest the images swirling in my mind. I intend to create work that offers a profoundly sensual experience while inviting contemplation of profound themes.
My latest creations delve into the concepts of eternity and time, exploring their interconnectedness and the intricate dance between permanence and impermanence.
